PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The programme is tailored to realize the full management potential of the candidate with real-world knowledge of the business world. The programme will provide the latest thinking on the core principles of management; drawing on best practices to develop skills and techniques that will make for more successful managers and leaders.
Learn proven methods for strategic planning, financial analysis, problem solving, team building, improving work relationship, leadership and executive skills development.
TARGET GROUP
Open to anyone who has no formal training in management but wishes to acquire a broad range of general management skills. Highly recommended for those with technical background.
CONTENTS
Module 1 – Managing Activities
This unit focuses on effective and efficient planning and management of work activities. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills to design, implement and change operational systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency. The module also introduces customer focus and marketing as integral part of managing activities.
Module 2 – Managing Resources
This module focuses on the effective selection and utilization of resources within the organization. It identifies the factors influencing the management of resources and introduces participants to techniques for procuring resources and controlling costs.
Module 3 – Managing People
This module develops the skills and knowledge needed to manage people in an organization. It recognizes that the management of people operates within the internal framework of organizational value, culture, policies and practices and that externally should meet the requirements of current legislation and ensure ethical and environmentally friendly behavior.
Module 4 – Managing Information
This unit enables participants to recognize the need for managers to be able to gather, analyze, record, store and disseminate information as part of the management function. The focus of the module is not on the information systems but on the process. The unit develops the skills and techniques involved in managing information, and participants will learn to manage information to facilitate decision making.
Module 5 – Industry Project
To be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in this programme by producing a dissertation covering ‘live’ projects.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The participants of this programme will have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to better understand the managerial process involved in the managing of activities, resources, people and information to be an effective manager.
CERTIFICATION
Participants who have successfully completed the course will be awarded the Executive Certificate in Management by Binary University College.
