PROGRAMME OVERVIEW



This practical-oriented programme aims to equip participants with latest practices and thinking on the various issues of Human Resource Management. Participants will have a better understanding of the difficulties of managing people, their behavior and the strategies available to deal with situations.

TARGET GROUP

Open to junior managers, budding HR executives and professionals who already have a basic understanding of management and are now keen in enhancing their knowledge and skills in Human Resource Management.

CONTENTS

Module 1  –  Strategic Human Resource Management

Contents:

  • The necessity for alignment of corporate strategy and HR strategies in circumstances of growth, change, survival and transformation.
  • Connection of HR strategies created for specific business function.
  • Capability evaluation, external assessment of labor market, creation of HR vision, strategic gap analysis and development of remedial action plans.
  • Evaluate significance of HR strategies for specific organizations including MNCs, manufacturing and service companies.
  • Construct HR plans which cater for future organizational needs.


Module 2  -  Industrial Relations

The study of industrial relations is based upon knowledge and methods developed in a number of traditional ways that include economics, psychology, sociology and law.

Contents:

  • Nature of employment relations.
  • Key forces that shape managerial approach to Industrial Relations.
  • The Industrial Relations Act 19667 and the background of industrial relations in Malaysia.
  • Rights of employers, employees and the relations between them.
  • Impact of unionism.
  • Handling of grievances and disciplinary actions


Module 3 – International Human Resource Management

To introduce the unique HRM styles employed by companies various parts of the globe.

  • HRM in EC countries
  • HRM in USA
  • HRM in South East Asia
  • HRM in transnationals and MNCs.
  • Current issues in HRM


LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of these modules, participants will have a sound understanding of the elements of HR strategy, its interaction with the strategies adopted in general by the organization and by all other businesses. They also covers the Industrial Relations Act  1967 extensively and its application.

CERTIFICATION

Participants who have successfully completed the course will be awarded the Executive Certificate in Human Resource Management by Binary University College.
