Tan Sri Mokhtar Al-Bukhary is one of the most prominent Malaysia entrepreneurs and he started doing business by helping his father in breeding cows. Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar started his real business in the southern Malaysia, selling and distributing rice. With the acquired knowledge and increase in his entrepreneurship skills, he later ventured into trading, logistics and shipping. Today he is listed as one of the top ten richest men in Malaysia by Forbes.

Datin Dr Liana Low: BELL group of Companies. Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2004. During the recession in the late 80's, Datin Dr Liana Low, an engineer and industrial psychologist by profession, acquired and steered palm oil mill under receivership into a profitable outfit within 2 years. Tenacity, innovative production techniques and 7 mills forward saw the BELL Group, which she co-founded, expand into one of Malaysia's largest private owned millers.

Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan: In just over a decade, Brickfields-born AK, built an empire more diversified than any Malaysian businessman had ever been able to do and in the process, turned himself into one of the richest man in Malaysia.Petronas Twin Towers, one of the World's tallest building is the brainchild of Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan.

Students who have a minimum of 3 credits in the SPM or 'O' levels are eligible to apply for this course. Upon completing this Diploma, students are eligible to enter Year 2 of the BA (Hons) in Entrepreneurship.

The objective of this course is to introduce the concept of entrepreneurship and provide a sound foundation in business management. At the end of the course, students will be motivated to want to start their own business, to become an entrepreneur. They will be intrigued by the success stories of great entrepreneurs through the Industry Lectures that will be given to them. They will be exposed to new modules like Small and Medium Enterprise Financing, Managing Entrepreneurial Ventures, Entrepreneurial Values and Skills and will find this course a world apart from the other business courses. Students will have to complete a project which gives them an opportunity to either specialize in a particular industry and create a new business venture or capitalize on opportunities in the franchise industry.

Students will enjoy the learning methodology of brain storming sessions, group discussions, group presentations and market research. Many of us studied hard, qualified with a diploma or degree, worked for someone and then, after many years, decided to quit our jobs and start our own businesses. This course short-cuts that long process and immediately sets you in the mode of starting your own business.

Students who have a minimum of 2 principle passes in the STPM / 2 A levels or have completed a Foundation programme are eligible to apply. Those with Diploma in Business,Finance, Marketing or related discipline are eligible for exemptions.

The programme aims to produce graduates who will have a sound knowledge of entrepreneurship skills, business management, industry specialization and the leadership qualities needed.

The course will focus on the various elements of entrepreneurship and business management. Students will have to choose an industry of their choice for their specialization and complete a project on their industry specialization. They will also be guided into transforming their business idea into a product or service for commercialization. At the end of the Course, students will have with them a BA (Hons) in Entrepreneurship, an Industry Specialization Certification and a real business in their hands. This is the one great difference between our students and their counterparts from other colleges and unversities, who will have an academic qualification and nothing else.

Today higher education has become much more accessible to people across the globe compared to my days when i was an international student in the UK, the US and thereafter a university lecturer in Malaysia. For many of us, in our lifetime it is university and school days that we cherish most because it is here that, while we acquire knowledge and skills, we also build long-lasting friendships. There numerous instances where we have seen building these friendship actually became the very foundation of buiding successful businessnes in the after years.

In line with the theme of LID 2007 which is "Eradicate Poverty through Human Capital Development", Binary University; Malaysia's pioneer university for entrepreneurship is providing a smart partnership programme to reduce poverty by helping to produce more entrepreneurs.

The objective of "EP 50 - 50" is to equip unemployed graduates from LID participating African Nations with the knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship in order for such graduates to start up their own small business in selected areas. Through "EP 50-50", entrepreneurs will be produced in the following areas

- Tourism
- Telecommunication
- Advertising
- IT Services
- Halal Food

"EP 50 - 50" is a smart partnership programme where interested LID participating countries can show their commitment by agreeing to take a small step towards eradicating poverty through generating new entrepreneurs. Through "EP 50-50", Binary University College would be providing 100 FULL Scholarships for participants to pursue any one of the Executive Certificate in Entrepreneurship Programmes in Malaysia at Binary University College.

For the number of students sent by the interested LID participating country, Binary will provide an equal number of full scholarships covering tuition fees and loding expenses. For example, if Country A sends 10 students, 5 will be on the Binary University scholarship and the remainder 5 will be paid for by the nominating country.
